Where it started
December 2021 – July 2022
They met in Colorado, and our first date was a comedy show. Nick was on a road trip back to North Carolina, while Dawn was finishing undergrad. For over nine months they stayed in touch and kept our commitment across 1,691 miles, until she got into her dream grad school just 30 miles from him.
Growing in North Carolina
August 2022 – August 2024
In the summer of 2022, Dawn moved across the country for graduate school, and perhaps to be closer to Nick too ;) Between Dawn’s classes and Nick starting his career, they bounced between Raleigh and Chapel Hill. During this time, they became best friends, supported each other’s dreams, and found home in one another.
Returning to our western routes
August 2024 – April 2026
After graduation, an opportunity in Utah gave them the push to start a new chapter together. They packed their lives and headed west toward our new home base, Salt Lake City. It was the first time they officially lived together, made new friends together, and explored new places together.
The ultimate bid
April 18
Nick planned the ultimate bid, a surprise proposal atop Lake Blanche, one of their favorite hikes. After climbing 2,700ft, Dawn spotted a trail of rose petals. Breathless from the moment (and the hike), she said yes! Now they can’t wait to make it official and celebrate with the people who mean the most to them!
