Where it started
December 2021
We met in Colorado, then let the map pull us apart — one of us anchored in North Carolina, the other arriving soon after for grad school. The friendship we’d only half-started picked right back up, and somewhere in the long talks and easy weekends, it quietly became everything.
Growing in North Carolina
August 2022 – August 2024
North Carolina became home base — grad school for one of us, work and a place in the thick of downtown Raleigh for the other. In between, we said yes to everything: new restaurants, new towns, new versions of an ordinary Tuesday — collecting the small, unremarkable days that turn two people into an us.
Returning to our western routes
August 2024 – April 2026
Then we packed the car and pointed it west — Utah, and the mountains we’d both been missing. It was the first place that was ours together, the first door we walked through with one set of keys. New trails, new friends, the same feeling we’d had at the start, only surer.
The ultimate bid
April 18
We hiked up to Lake Blanche — though only one of us knew what the day held. At the top, with the whole basin spread out below, the question was asked and the answer was yes. We’re still a little breathless about it, and now we just want to celebrate with you.
so please join us...
